A Week in the Life of KUFC #26

06/08/2024

Continuing their preparations for the upcoming season, here’s what happened for our teams during the last seven days:

Soccer School:

Led by coach Den, we had two engaging Saturday soccer school sessions. This saw the children play evasion games and reaction games which they all enjoyed. Thank you to everyone that came along and we look forward to seeing them all again.

Wildcats/Cubs:

The Wildcats and Cubs hosted a very enjoyable session on Wednesday night. There were 29 girls that popped along and got involved with the fun. The individual trophies were secured by Sophia, Leah, Codie-Mae, Eva, Ayva and Zarah.

U7:

The Piranhas played another excellent friendly match in midweek. There were some good runs on the ball and the boys are starting to get to grips with the new kick/dribble in rule. Felix and Freddie H were the recipients of the MOTM awards. On Saturday, they held their first presentation ceremony and it was a wonderful occasion. Well done to all the boys for picking up their trophies. The following day, the team attended the Patrington tournament and came away as plate winners after putting in some outstanding displays. Henley was voted player of the tournament.

U8:

Our Lionesses enjoyed a great training session on Wednesday night. They’re really starting to see progression in their passing, movement and finding space. Febiee was named as the trainer of the week and, at the end of the session, Isla belatedly picked up her player of the year award.

On Friday night, the Falcons had a very good training session. The boys all put in a fantastic shift in warm conditions and Oliver was awarded the trainer of the week trophy.

After a little break, the Moonstones were back in training on Monday night. It was fantastic to see all the girls and they had some fitness work, mini games and training matches to get them ready for friendlies and the season ahead.

U9:

Celebrating their achievements during the 2023/24 campaign, our Tigers held their presentation ceremony on Friday night. The boys all had a brilliant season and they can’t wait to get stuck into their next season.

U10:

The Vikings exhibited outstanding effort in their training session. The full squad were together and the sun was shining. The trainer of the week awards were given to Elliott and Alfie.

On Saturday, our Krystals experienced their first taste of 9v9 football with a training game against AFC Preston. All the girls did amazing and can take lots of positives from their display. Darcey, Abi, Jess and Layla all received POTM trophies.

The Arrows played out a closely fought contest against the newly formed Longhill Ravens at Eastmount. All the boys had a great runout and made it a great watch for all their parents and relatives.

U12:

The Ambers were in friendly action on Saturday. It was another good runout for the team as they all worked hard together. Summer picked up both POTM awards.

Meanwhile, our Sharks raised more funds for their football trip to Spain. The team collected £292.40 during the time they had in St Stephen’s and, once again, showed excellent initiative.

On Sunday, the Hornets took on Hall Road Rangers Panthers. The boys exhibited some fantastic passing and worked hard all over the pitch as they looked for passes into the right channels and areas. Harvey and Olly B both received MOTM awards.

U14:

On Wednesday night, the Bulldogs had their first training session after a six week break. All the lads gave it their all and enjoyed a very productive workout.

Ladies:

The Ladies team took a break from pre-season action and played some zorb football on Sunday. They had an absolutely amazing time with plenty of laughs along the way.
