A Week in the Life of KUFC #27

13/08/2024

Within our age groups, here’s what the KUFC teams got up to throughout the last seven days:

Soccer School:

Led by coach Owen, we had a brilliant Tuesday night soccer school session at Kinloss. All the children enjoyed themselves and put in lots of hard work and effort with the individual trophies being awarded to Thomas and Reuban.

Wildcats:

Despite only running a Wildcats session for those aged 6-11, a total of 23 girls came along to participate. Each one of them loved their experience and the individual trophies went to Codie-Mae, Connie, Ava, Eva, Amy and Alissia.

U7:

On Tuesday night, our Pythons held their first presentation ceremony. It was a fantastic occasion and everyone enjoyed their time at laser tag, bowling and the arcades. They’re now eagerly awaiting the start of next season.

The following night, the Piranhas enjoyed a fun training session. The boys worked on a number of things included their dribbling, first touches and fitness. Everyone did very well and Freddie D picked up the trainer of the week award. On Sunday, they had a really good game against Hessle Sporting Club Vikings. The boys tried their hand in all positions and put in lots of great effort. Freddie H earned himself the MOTM trophy.

U8:

The Lionesses had a relaxed training session at Kinloss on Wednesday night. All the girls were full of energy and exhibited fantastic endeavour with Betsy being named as the trainer of the week. Whilst the girls trained, their parents got themselves stuck in with maintaining the 9v9 pitch. The girls then played four games at Hull University on Sunday against very tough opposition. Everyone put in an amazing shift and grafted hard on the pitch with the POTM awards going to Isla and Daisy

Our Falcons put in a big shift in their training session on Friday night. It was great to see the full team all getting themselves ready for the new season and they can’t wait for it.

On Monday night, the Moonstones had a joint training session with the Lionesses at Noddle Hill. In hot and humid conditions, the girls did amazing and the club spirit between everyone was wonderful. They showed fantastic sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.

U9:

On Saturday, the Lions held a bucket collection at the Hull City game. It was a fabulous fundraising event which saw them walk away with just over £500 raised.

In addition to this, our Pearls met up with Malet Lambert YC for a training game at Soccer Sensations. With low numbers for both, the girls were mixed with each other and there was some good football played throughout.

On Sunday, the Lynxes faced Thorngumbald Barrens and put in a brilliant performance in both games. They’re starting to put their training work into game situations with some terrific passing and movement.

U10:

Taking a week off training, our Krystals instead had a team social. They went to the park, went swimming, had a trip to McDonalds and played some football. Everyone loved the opportunity to do some more team bonding. On Saturday, the girls played out a fantastic 9v9 friendly against Hull United. Every single player put in a tremendous shift with the POTM accolades being received by Darcey and Amelia.

Continuing an annual tradition which has now lasted five years, the Panthers and Avengers played against each other on Thursday night. Both teams had an outstanding runout and maintained their friendly rivalry.

Meanwhile, our Kings had a terrific training session. All the boys put in top effort and kept themselves ticking over ahead of the upcoming season. Amin, Jacob and Ben all received trainer of the week trophies.

U12:

Our Sharks also took part in the bucket collection at the City match on Saturday. They also raised just over £500 for their team thanks to some amazing work by the players and their parents. The following day, they locked horns with the Vipers from the age group above in their annual friendly. Both sides played some fantastic football and made it a very good occasion.

The Hornets took on Pelican United in friendly action on Sunday. All the boys gave everything and had a very positive runout to maintain their preparations for the upcoming season. The MOTM awards were received by Harvey, Max and Thomas D. On Monday night, the boys had a light and fun training session in which they worked on some things from their friendly.

U13:

Despite a small turnout due to holidays, the Emeralds enjoyed a good training session on Tuesday night. They started out with a run to warm up and this was followed by drills to work on touch control, shooting and teamwork. Ava was handed the trainer of the week award.

U14:

The Bulldogs undertook some fitness training on Tuesday night as they did running and stair climbing to get the leg muscles working. All the lads enjoyed it and it puts them in great stead for upcoming games. They then worked on their press and cover in their next training session a couple of days later. This was followed by a game, so the lads could put what they learnt into practice.

U15:

Our Diamonds got involved with maintaining the 9v9 pitch at Kinloss on Tuesday night. The players and parents all worked together to ensure a pitch that the team have never played on and never will is ready for other teams to use. Well done everyone.

Ladies:

Kingswood United Ladies had a very productive training session on Friday night. Everyone trained really hard and maintained their excellent preparations for the 2024/25 season.
