Here’s what our teams did last week:
Wildcats/Cubs:
On Wednesday night, the Wildcats and Cubs saw 31 girls attend their session. Everyone had a very enjoyable time and the individual awards were received by Betsy, Zarah, Poppy, Alissia, Lily and Wren.
U7:
On Saturday, the Pythons had a great training session. Despite having a low turnout, they worked with the smaller group as they adjusted to the rule changes and got ready for the upcoming step up into U8 football.
The next day, our Piranhas enjoyed an outstanding experience at the Doncaster tournament. They came up against some well matched teams and bagged themselves a deserved place in the Semi-Finals. All the boys worked extremely hard and Felix earned the player of the tournament award.
U8:
The Falcons were in friendly action on Tuesday night as they took on Barham. The boys played some great football and the MOTM awards were handed out to Freddie and Oliver.
Our Lionesses worked on their set pieces in their training session on Wednesday night as they transition over to the new dribble in and kick in rules. They finished off with a game focusing on the set pieces and the girls all showed excellent work rate. Belle was named as the trainer of the week. On Saturday, the team had a match at Kinloss and exhibited an excellent display. The girls had fun, worked hard and showed some slick passing and moving all over the pitch. Sophia and Betsy both picked up POTM awards.
The Hawks participated in the Doncaster tournament on Sunday where they had an excellent display. It took them all the way to the Champions League final and every player exhibited terrific endeavour as well as fantastic teamwork. They can be very proud of their achievements.
U9:
On Tuesday night, our Leopards returned to training after a few weeks off. The boys were put through their paces by coach Glenn and they worked hard in the heat. Jake and Alfie picked up the trainer of the week awards. They then had a physical game against Patrington on Sunday. The boys had to battle hard and they rose to the challenge. Liam, Jacob and Charlie all received MOTM trophies.
The following night, the Lynxes played their second friendly in four days against Barham. All the boys impressed yet again and played exceptionally well as they exhibited terrific through balls and great work down the wings.
Our Jaguars attended the Hull City game and were flag bearers. It was a lovely experience for everyone.
Without a friendly to play, the Tigers decided to go to foot golf on Sunday. It was a fun way to have some more team bonding and everyone enjoyed their day.
U10:
On Wednesday night, the Krystals played a 9v9 friendly against Hessle Rangers. The girls smashed it and they’re all doing amazing in the new format. Jess B, Jess A, Eliza and Tallulah all secured POTM accolades.
Meanwhile, our Hotspurs also attended the Hull City game and were flag carriers. It was a great bonding event for the team and they loved the experience.
The Kings had an excellent training session during the week which saw them put in lots of hard work and effort. Michael, Wyatt and Henry all earned trainer of the week trophies.
On Sunday, our Vikings were in friendly action and had a great runout. Everyone put in a good shift and the MOTM awards went to Illijah and Harry.
U11:
On Saturday, the Jets completed the second part of their sponsored Yorkshire three peaks challenge. They successfully reached the peak of Whernside and raised a total of £500 which’ll go towards purchasing new shorts, socks and training gear for the girls. Well done to everyone involved.
U12:
Our Ambers faced their biggest challenge to date on Saturday, but they took lots of positives from the game. The girls showed character, determination and great teamwork against a very strong and organised team. The POTM trophies were given to Bella, Leni and Lacie.
With their friendly being postponed, the Hornets instead had a two hour training session. The boys worked on their passing, shooting and talking not just with their voices but with signals of where they wanted the ball.
On Sunday, the Sharks came up against big, strong and fast opposition in Discovery Dynamoes. All the lads stood up to the challenge and put in a really big shift. They then undertook a sponsored bike ride to and from Hornsea on Monday which raised more funds for their football trip to Salou in October. Everyone had a great time at the seaside and it was an amazing experience all round.
U13:
Our Emeralds enjoyed a fantastic training session on Tuesday night in which they had a match against another KUFC team. It was a great opportunity for the girls to really focus on their teamwork. Rosie earned herself the trainer of the week trophy. On Saturday, the girls played in the Howden tournament where they spilt into teams as Ambers and Blacks. The Ambers were unlucky to finish where they did as they put in some good performances against strong opposition whilst the Blacks emerged as tournament plate winners. Well done to everyone.
U14:
The Bulldogs put themselves through fitness training on Tuesday night. They started with a flat run and then progressed to hill running, stair climbing and some obstacles. On Thursday night, the boys endured wet conditions as they had another training session. They played a five a side game and had lots of fun.
Ladies:
Kingswood United Ladies took on Pocklington in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night. They emerged with a 5-4 victory and the goals consisted of four Mel Walsh efforts and a Sara Croughan strike. Walsh also took home the POTM award . The team then went and won the cup plate at the Howden tournament on Saturday. They put in a number of tremendous performances throughout the tournament itself and played some terrific football. The following day, the Ladies suffered a 3-0 defeat at Barton United. Izzy Grant was named as the POTM.
