Here’s our summary of what’s gone on in the KUFC age groups throughout the last seven days:
Wildcats/Cubs:
In blustery conditions, a total of 35 girls attended the Wildcats and Cubs session at Kinloss on Wednesday night. All of them enjoyed the activities and put in plenty of effort. The recipients of the individual trophies were Hallie, Emily, Libby, Calise, Eva and Layla.
U8:
The Lionesses passed the ball around brilliantly in their training session on Wednesday night. Everyone had a great session and Layla picked up the trainer of the week award. They then had an excellent runout against Malet Lambert on Saturday in which the girls put in a very strong performance. Layla and Daisy were awarded the POTM trophies.
During midweek, our Falcons played a friendly against the Jaguars from the U9 age group to help them transition to their new 7v7 format. Everyone put in a top performance and enjoyed their football. The Falcons MOTM trophy from their subsequent game against the Leopards was awarded to Oliver.
Joined by three members of the Hornets team, our Moonstones were flag bearers at the Hull City game on Saturday. They all did KUFC proud and had a lovely experience.
U9:
Our Leopards held a good training session on Tuesday night in which the boys worked hard on their passing and moving of the ball with the three pass play. On Sunday, they played the Falcons from the below age group in a closely fought encounter at Kinloss. Both teams were a credit to the club and the game was played in good spirits. The Leopards MOTM trophies were received by Jake, Oliver and Jenson.
The following night, the Lynxes travelled to Longcroft College to face Tickton Vipers. The boys displayed excellent composure, desire and defended really well and all put in a fantastic performance.
On Sunday, our Tigers travelled to Springhead for another pre-season friendly. The boys exhibited outstanding teamwork and played some cracking football. Eli and Freddie were named as the MOTM.
U10:
Our Vikings played a friendly in wet conditions on Saturday. They all worked very hard and played some good football. The MOTM trophies went to Elliott and Elijah.
The Arrows and Hotspurs faced each other in a well contested game at Kingswood Academy on Sunday. Both sides played some outstanding football and it puts them in very good stead for the upcoming season. For the Arrows, their MOTM award was given to Will.
U12:
On Saturday, the Sapphires hosted their first 11 a side friendly against a great team from York. The girls never stopped battling and all did themselves proud.
Meanwhile, our Ambers were also in action. Everyone worked hard as a team and put in an excellent shift. Daisy and Abbi both received the POTM awards.
U14:
On Tuesday night, the Bulldogs had their usual fitness training session. They did a flat run, hill running, up and down steps, press-ups and a few obstacles. A couple of nights later, the team worked on their passing and defending which was then followed by a 5 a side game.
