In the last seven days, this is what occurred within the KUFC age groups:
Soccer School:
Led by coach Owen, we had a great Tuesday night soccer school session at Kinloss. Those that attended worked on their first touch, familiarising themselves with the pitch and switching play. Kevinas and Isaac both received individual trophies.
Wildcats/Cubs:
On Wednesday night, 34 girls attended the Wildcats and Cubs session at Kinloss. They all exhibited wonderful endeavour and had a very enjoyable time. The individual trophies were picked up by Lucy P, Eva, Nevaeh, Alissia, Ava and Charley.
U7:
The Piranhas played their final pre-season tournament last weekend. They played some absolutely wonderful football and worked extremely hard as a team which helped them reach the Semi-Finals. Freddie H and Henley were the recipients of the player of the tournament awards.
U8:
Our Pythons were in pre-season action against Priory FC on Sunday. They played two highly competitive games which provided valuable learning opportunities for the whole team. Charlie and Billy received the MOTM trophies.
U9:
The Moonstones held a light training session on Friday night. In which, the girls practised their movements, shots at goal and learning to stand their ground when the opponent approaches them. They then faced tough opposition on Saturday, but fought through and can take lessons from the game into upcoming matches. The POTM trophies were handed out to Piper and Chloe.
The following day, our Lionesses ended their pre-season campaign with a game against Springhead Falcons. Trying something new, the girls enjoyed playing in different positions and all came away with a smile on their face. Abbie and Sophia secured the POTM awards. They went on to be mascots at the Hull City Ladies game on Sunday and everyone had a wonderful time.
On Sunday, the Hawks, Falcons, Eagles and Harriers faced each other in the annual Kinloss cup. All the teams had some great battles throughout their matchups and it went down to the last two games to determine the standings. The Falcons came away as cup winners and it was a fantastic day all round for everyone involved.
U10:
The Leopards wrapped up their pre-season with a final tournament at Cottingham Rangers on Sunday. Facing tough opposition, the boys put in some hard fought performances and can take positives from the experience to take into the upcoming season.
In addition to this, our Lynxes and Pumas locked horns in a friendly match. Both teams played brilliantly and had some great battles all over the pitch. For the Lynxes, their MOTM trophies were given to Ewan and Reuban.
U11:
On Saturday, the Krystals started their league season with a home game against Malet YC. They put in a fantastic display as everyone showed excellent effort and endeavour. Jess B, Amelia and Layla were awarded the POTM trophies.
Meanwhile, our Vikings absolutely smashed their training session. They worked their socks off and the trainer of the week awards were given to Coban and Elliott.
The next day, the Arrows played out a closely fought game with Hall Road Rangers at Kingswood Acacemy. Both sides played some top football and it was great to see so many parents and relatives come along to support the team. Ellis was named as the MOTM.
U13:
Our Sapphires were in friendly action against Springhead on Wednesday night. Everyone put in a tremendous performance and all came away proud of themselves. The POTM trophies were given to Millie and Georgia.
The Ambers began their league season on Saturday. They put in an outstanding display to give themselves a great start and all the girls are glad to be back. The POTM awards were received by Miley, Lily and Leni.
On Sunday, the Sharks brought their pre-season schedule to a conclusion with a match against North Ferriby FC at Kingswood Academy. All the boys passed the ball around with great purpose and exhibited a fantastic performance to give them more confidence going into the new campaign.
Our Hornets contested a cup tie with Springhead Rangers in what was a very competitive encounter. The boys never gave up and looked to pass the ball in the correct areas with Harvey, Riley and Dylan all receiving MOTM trophies. They then held a training session on Monday night where they worked on things to improve on before the boys begin their league season.
U14:
On Tuesday night, the Emeralds played a friendly against the Rubys from the above age group. All the girls did great and are continuing to push forward ahead of their upcoming season. Isla picked up the trainer of the week award. They then had a very good runout in their pre-season friendly on Saturday. The progress and improvement displayed by each player is truly commendable and well done to the entire team.
U15:
After a week off fitness training, our Bulldogs were back at it on Tuesday night. This saw them partake in distance running, hill running, stair climbing, an obstacle course and some circuit training. They then worked on their passing and moving in their training session on Thursday night. The session ended with a 5 a side game of three touch football.
Men’s:
Our men’s team began the East Riding County League Division Three 2024/25 season with a home game against East Yorkshire United at Kingswood Academy on Saturday. They came away with a 10-3 victory thanks to a Nathan Sewell hat-trick, Jack Patterson and Archie Moon braces, Lewis Malton and Alex Wray efforts and an own goal.
Ladies:
Kingswood United Ladies started their East Riding County Women’s League Division Two campaign on the road at Leven Ladies on Sunday. They secured a 6-4 win courtesy of four Mel Walsh goals and strikes from Charlotte Edmondson and Sara Croughan. Croughan also earned the POTM award.
Vets:
Kingswood United Vets earned an opening day 3-1 win against Lord Nelson at Kingswood Academy on Sunday. It provided them with the perfect start to their Hull & District Veterans Football League Division One season.
