A Week in the Life of KUFC #36

In the last seven days, our teams produced these news stories:

Soccer School:

We held a very good Tuesday night soccer school at Winifred Holtby. The children worked on hitting targets from different distances whilst under pressure. Ernie and Josh received individual awards.

The Saturday soccer school took place at Kinloss where everyone worked hard and there were a few new faces that came along.

Cubs/Wildcats/Squad Girls:

There were a total of 45 girls aged 4-15 that participated in the Cubs, Wildcats and Squad Girls session at Winifred Holtby on Wednesday night. The individual trophy winners were Marlie, Amelia, Jessica, Eva, Zarah, Hallie A and Elsie.

U7:

Despite the cold weather and the rain, our Piranhas had a fantastic training session on Wednesday night. The boys worked on things such as keeping the ball and taking it around the defender. Chael received the trainer of the week award. They then had a great runout against Costello Rhinos on Sunday and played some amazing football. Felix and Freddie D both took home MOTM awards.

U8:

The Pythons locked horns with Gilberdyke Phoenix on Sunday and put in an excellent performance. It saw the boys press the ball really well and work extremely hard in tracking back. Billy and Theo both secured MOTM trophies.

As well as this, our Adders faced off against East Hull Wanderers at Kinloss. It was a well played game with both teams in great spirits and Lottie took home the individual award.

U9:

On Wednesday night, our Lionesses worked on fitness, passing and movement in their training session. The trainer of the week accolade was received by Daisy. On Saturday, they welcomed Malet Lambert to Kinloss and put in an outstanding display full of grit and determination. Zoe earned herself the club girl award and Hollie and Febiee were named as the POTM.

The Moonstones faced Cottingham Wolves at Hull University on Saturday. All the girls really enjoyed the game and played some excellent football. The POTM accolades were received by Matilda, Piper and Ava-Grace.

The following day, our Harriers contested two very challenging and entertaining encounters against Driffield. The boys did really well against a strong and well organised side and worked extremely hard. Arthur, Seth and Toby all earned themselves MOTM awards.

The Hawks were also in action as they took on Cottingham Rangers. They recycled the ball very well throughout and the boys that stepped up in different positions adapted brilliantly. The individual awards were handed to Jack and Jackson.

Our Falcons welcomed Hessle Sporting Wasps to Kinloss and they had an evenly contested game. The boys showed full commitment and battled well all over the pitch. Ellis and Noah earned themselves MOTM trophies.

U10:

On Sunday, the Leopards headed to Costello and both sides played out two great games. Jenson, Kurtley and Liam were all named as the MOTM.

Our Lynxes entertained Driffield and put in a very good performance. All the boys gave it their all and the individual accolades went to Vaughn, Reuben and Freddie.

In addition to this, the Jaguars hosted Bridlington Wolves at Kinloss. The sides played out two wonderful games of football and the MOTM awards were received by Remy and Parker.

U11:

During midweek, the Vikings exhibited wonderful endeavour with their preparations in training. Harry was named as the trainer of the week. They played their first ever cup game on Sunday and exhibited a great display. Everyone played really well and had lots of fun with the MOTM accolades going to George and Ollie A.

Our Krystals traveled to Scunthorpe on Saturday for their game. After a slow start, the team put in a strong second half performance and exhibited brilliant effort. Tallulah and Eliza both picked up POTM trophies.

On Sunday, the Arrows took on Cottingham Rangers Whites in the Queen’s Cup at Hull University. They put in an absolutely valiant display and can definitely take lots of positives from the tie. The individual trophies were secured by Archie and Kaiden.

U12:

In cup action, our Marvels were on the road at Howden Hawks on Sunday. It was a tough contest for the boys and they took things from it to work on for future games. The MOTM awards were handed to Lucas and Lewis.

Meanwhile, the Cyclones hosted Nafferton Youth AFC at Kingswood Academy. The teams played out a tight cup encounter which went to a penalty shootout and saw the Cyclones emerge victorious. Well done to all those that stepped up and took their penalties.

The Tornados headed to Hull University to face Cottingham Rangers. They played some smart football and can all be very proud of their overall performance. The MOTM trophies were awarded to Zayn and Michael.

U13:

The Hornets had two terrific training sessions which saw the lads work on stuff including quick plays passing and looking at finishes in the corners of the goal. Harvey took home the trainer of the week award. On Sunday, they played a friendly against Pelican United. It was a very good display from the team and the MOTM awards went to Riley and Cade.

Meanwhile, the Ambers enjoyed a great training session of their own. Everyone put in amazing work and the trainer of the week trophies were awarded to Meghan and Phoebe.

On Sunday, our Sharks were in friendly action against Hornsea Sporting. They put in a strong performance and played some great football with Antoni being named as the MOTM.

U14:

Our Emeralds experienced a tough game on Saturday in which they fought hard and took plenty of positives from. The individual trophies were awarded to Ava, Emme and Jess. On Monday night, they braved the cold weather and enjoyed a great training session. The girls focused on shooting and ball strength and the trainer of the week award was received by Alexa.

U15:

On Tuesday night, our Bulldogs endured soggy conditions in their fitness training session. They performed sprints, recovery and piggy back rides. The team worked on attacking and defending in their next training session on Thursday night. On Sunday, the boys had an outstanding runout in the cup against AFC Tickton Pumas as they worked hard and exhibited strong attacking and defensive play. Rio and Archie both picked up MOTM trophies.

Ladies:

Kingswood United Ladies secured a 3-1 win over Holme Rovers Ladies at Kingswood Academy on Sunday. They moved two points clear at the top of the East Riding Women’s League Division One table thanks to a Mel Walsh hat-trick. Walsh also earned the POTM award.
