A Week in the Life of KUFC #40

For the 40th week running, we continue to share the most recent news within the club’s age groups. This is how the last seven days went for our teams:

Soccer School:

Our Tuesday soccer school has provided some great sessions over the last couple of weeks. In the most recent one, the children worked on keeping the ball and shielding. Jacob, Lucas, Thomas and Elijah all took home trophies.

Led by coaches Dave and Sam, the Saturday soccer school hosted a couple of wonderful sessions. The children looked at how to scan whilst dribbling and receiving the ball.

Wildcats/Squad Girls:

The Wildcats and Squad Girls hosted 33 girls in their session on Wednesday night. Everyone had a wonderful time and the individual awards were given to Leila, Eva, Izzy and Amelia.

U7:

On Wednesday night, our Piranhas enjoyed a great training session in which they played an hour long game and worked on things including positioning, defending, attacking and working together as a team. The trainer of the week trophy was picked up by Felix. They then faced a very strong Cottingham Rangers side on Sunday and played some great football. Sonny and Hudson took home the MOTM awards.

U8:

On Sunday, our Pythons put in a great performance against Hessle Rangers Jackals. They won the ball back as quickly as they could and played some very good passes. Alfie C and Bobby earned themselves the MOTM trophies.

U9:

The Lionesses joined up with the Wildcats once again on Wednesday night. They played games such as ultimate bulldog, six pin bowling and held a dribble and shoot contest. Abbie earned herself the trainer of the week award.

On Saturday, the Moonstones had a friendly against Hall Road Rangers Diamonds. The girls played exceptionally well and showed terrific teamwork all over the pitch. The POTM awards were received by Ella, Violet and Chloe.

The following day, our Harriers were in action against Tickton Lions. The sides played out two hard fought games which saw the boys exhibit excellent link up play and solid defending. The MOTM trophies were awarded to Kristupas, Jaxon and Achillies.

U10:

The Leopards made the short trip to Pelican Park on Sunday as they locked horns with Pelican Rangers for the first ever time. They contested two excellent games which contained outstanding football by both teams. The MOTM awards went to Charlie and Jake.

Our Tigers had a home game against Cherry Burton and it was a very good watch for all spectators. Beau, Kieran and Spencer secured the MOTM trophies.

The Lynxes were also in action as they made the trip to Hessle Sporting Colts. They put in a very strong performance and played some top football with the MOTM trophies going to Freddie and Noah.

On Monday night, our Lions had a brilliant futsal session which saw them play eight games against two teams. The boys are progressing very nicely and well done to Teddy H and Koen on picking up the MOTM awards.

U11:

Our Vikings put in plenty of hard work and effort in their training session during midweek. Jensen secured the individual accolade. They celebrated their first year as a a team on Saturday which was full of fun, laughter, football and cake.

The Krystals played a friendly with Hessle Rangers at Kinloss on Saturday. It was a tough encounter in which the girls had to work very hard and the POTM trophies were awarded to Darcey and Oliwia.

U12:

The Cyclones spent their Saturday night watching some ice hockey as Hull Jets were in action against Deeside Dragons. The boys all loved the occasion and it was a fantastic team bonding experience.

The following day, our Tornadoes were in cup action against Cottingham Rangers Comets. It was a very tight contest between the two sides which saw the Tornadoes progress to the next round of the competition. Mitchell and Ethan acquired the MOTM trophies.

U13:

On Saturday, the Sapphires enjoyed a wonderful display in their game against Tickton. They showcased some excellent link up play, triangle passing, communication and composure. All the girls were named as the parents’ POTM and Neve secured the manager’s POTM award.

Meanwhile, our Ambers had an amazing runout in their game. All the girls put in a tremendous shift and the individual awards were given to Phoebe, Scarlett, Belle and Leni.

On Sunday, KUFC Thunder had an away tie at Hessle Sporting Thors in the cup. They exhibited a strong team performance and made their way into the Quarter-Finals for the first time. The MOTM awards were handed to Alfie B and Alfie D.

In their cup tie, the Sharks faced a tough test against Hull United. All the lads put in a good shift as it went all the way to penalties and can take positives from the tie despite the final result. Walter was named as the MOTM.

U14:

The Emeralds had a challenging match against a strong Tickton side on Saturday. All the girls held their own and fought hard right up to the final whistle. Imogen, Willow and Hannah all acquired individual awards. They followed this up with a productive training session on Monday night where they focused on running drills to boost their stamina and finished with a match. The trainer of the week award was handed to Aanya.

On Sunday, our Typhoons locked horns with Springhead Spartans in what was an entertaining cup tie. The boys all played really well throughout the game and showcased some wonderful passing moves. Liam and Jayden both earned individual accolades.

U15:

In their Thursday night training session, the Bulldogs worked on attacking, defending and some goalkeeping work. They took on Malet Vikings Whites in the cup on Sunday and had a challenging encounter. It was a great effort from the entire team and the individual awards were given to Archie G and Dorian.

Our Rubys played out a very tight contest with Hessle Rangers on Saturday. They all exhibited an outstanding performance and played some amazing football throughout the game. Remmie and Summer picked up the individual awards.

Men’s:

The men’s team had a trip to AFC Tickton on Saturday. The sides drew 1-1 and Thomas Robinson got his name on the scoresheet for KUFC.

Ladies:

On Sunday, Kingswood United Ladies drew 3-3 against Pocklington Town Ladies with their goals coming courtesy of a Mel Walsh brace and Charlotte Edmondson effort. Rebecca Stabler was the recipient of the POTM award.
